Growing up in Boston, Soumil was always surrounded by the world of science and cutting-edge technology. He first-hand witnessed the power of innovation throughout high school and college, where he spent time at Harvard Medical School as a biomedical researcher. Eager to understand how business can spur innovation, Soumil started his career at Fidelity Investments within its buy-side equity research/trading division. At Fidelity, Soumil helped drive public investments across a variety of sectors, markets, and growth stages. Wanting to have a greater impact on company strategy, Soumil joined the corporate finance/strategy team at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. During his tenure, Soumil held a variety of roles – everything from tactical FP&A and long-range strategic planning to investor relations and business development. Given his investing background and operator experience, Soumil was drawn to Watertower Ventures with the goal of diving head-first into the world of venture capital during business school and beyond.

Soumil has a BA from Tufts University in Economics and is currently pursuing his MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is passionate about all things sports and loves to compete –after three major knee surgeries, these days you can find him on the tennis or pickleball court.
