Sharan Subramanian

DATA SCIENCE

Raised in the Bay Area and immersed in its vibrant startup culture, Sharan has always been fascinated by the opportunity to leverage technology to create meaningful impact. Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering at UCLA, he is applying his technical skills and entrepreneurial mindset to build innovative solutions.

While continuously learning and building, his first experience came through an internship at a music licensing and publishing company called Audilus, where he developed ingestion pipelines and automations. Following this, he joined Referrio, a startup focused on creating a community-based referral platform for job applications, as a Full Stack Engineer. Here, he worked on backend systems, deployment, and helped plan initial pilot programs.

Sharan enjoys attending hackathons and consistently seeks opportunities to build new projects. He is currently working on Fylr, an AI-powered file management tool designed specifically for businesses in document-intensive industries.

At UCLA, Sharan is currently conducting research at a Natural Language Processing and LLM lab, where he is exploring the application of LLMs and conversational agents in the medical domain. He is also actively involved with Sigma Eta Pi, the entrepreneurship fraternity, further fueling his passion for innovation and startups. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, playing tennis, and listening to music.
