Growing up in the UK, Ryan took a somewhat traditional path into the world of finance post his undergraduate degree. He began working at Nomura on the proprietary cross-asset trading desk and subsequently moved to the institutional foreign exchange sales team at Credit Suisse. Whilst he enjoyed his time in the public markets, Ryan developed the entrepreneurial bug and began working on ideas, most notably a sports data platform designed to optimize sports betting strategies and a fitness app. Unfortunately for him, neither of these ideas took off, however from this point he was hooked on working with early-stage companies. With this newfound passion (and a desire to get away from the London weather), Ryan felt drawn to the Los Angeles entrepreneurial ecosystem and is now looking to fully immerse himself in all things venture.
Ryan is currently pursuing his MBA at UCLA Anderson and has a BSc from the University of Bristol in Economics and Finance. He played varsity soccer in his time at Bristol and is looking for a team here in LA!
